In the past, it has been heard that dogs have only gray eyes, and other colors cannot be seen. However, this is just a rumor, so is the dog color blind? Is it really just a color blindness? Can you see an expression?
Many materials and pet books believe that dogs are color blind, but this has never been explained. According to the latest analysis by scientists, it turns out that dogs are not color blind. Dogs' vision is quite good, but it is somewhat different from humans. Dogs' eyes also have color vision, but the color is not too important to dogs.
On the human retina, there are separate rod-shaped and cone-shaped visual cells. The former distinguishes the light and darkness of the environment (black and white), and the latter distinguishes the color. Dogs have more rod-shaped cells than cones, so dogs can still understand and see objects in low-light environments. From this, experts have concluded that no matter how colorful an object is, it only appears as a pastel color in the eyes of dogs.
