Sausage Dogs (Definite Introduction)
The Sausage Dog is a brilliant and courageous hunting dog breed. It is a dog breed that is unique in catching mice. It has amazing patience and physical strength when tracking its prey. It has a sharp feel and a body shape similar to that of a small dog. It can easily enter holes to chase away prey such as rabbits and foxes. He has a brilliant character, is smart, and likes to make noise. Sausage dogs are available in all coat colors, with small white spots on the chest or freckles of various colors. Short-haired dogs have short and dense hair, and the hair on the inside of the tail is thicker. Long-haired dog breeds with long and soft hair, dull straight hair, or a little wavy. The back of the feet is richly feathered. The body is long and muscular, and it can easily get into holes. The head is long, the top is thin, and the head cover is arched. The eyes are dark in color and of medium size. If the appearance is patterned, part or all of the eyes will be light cyan. The ears are mobile, lively and long, with high base. The tail slides down and bends along the back bone, with the tail end advancing forward. The muscles of the forelimbs are strong and the hind limbs are parallel when viewed from the back. The front feet are high and the rear feet are slightly weak.
Head
When viewed from above or from the side, the head is tapered (gradually tapering toward the tip of the nose). The eyes are of medium size, almond-shaped, with dark circles, and the expression is pleasant and comfortable; the gaze is not sharp; the complexion is very dark. The bridge of the nose (above the eyes) is very strong and oversized. Except for freckled sausage dogs, color rings in the eyes are a very serious fault. The ears are positioned very close to the top of the head, not too far forward, of medium length and round, and not too narrow, too pointed or folded. The ears are hanging, and when they are open, the front edges of the ears are close to the cheeks and become part of the face. The skull is slightly arched, neither too broad nor too narrow, gradually sloping through a slight but noticeable stop to a refined, slightly arched tone. Black is the preferred color for nose lenses. The lips spread closely, covering the lower jaw. The nostrils are open. The mouth can open very wide, the joint between the mandible and the skull is located behind the eyes, and the bones and teeth are very thick. Teeth: Powerful canines,The teeth are close together in a scissors bite. Pincer bite is a minor fault and other bites are serious faults.
Neck
Long, well muscled, clean and free of fat, the back of the neck is slightly arched and blends smoothly into the shoulders.
Torso
The torso is long and well developed with muscles. Superficially, the back (from the withers to the short, slightly arched loin) is as straight as possible. The body hanging easily from the shoulder blades is a serious fault. Abdomen: Slightly elevated.
Gait
Smooth and smooth. The forelimbs stretch well forward without raising the legs too high, coordinating with the starting action of the hindquarters. Precise shoulder construction and well-fitted elbows allow for a relaxed, long stride. Viewed from the side, the forelimbs are not flowing on a more than parallel plane, but slightly inward to offset the effects of short legs and wide chest. The hind limbs start in a straight line with the forelegs, with the hocks (metatarsals) turning neither in nor out. The propulsion force of the hind legs mainly depends on the dog being able to fully stretch his hind legs. Viewed from the side, the degree of forward stretch of the hind legs is the same as the degree of backward stretch. The correct movement of the back pedal is that the back foot pads are clearly visible during the entire backward stretch. The paws should be parallel to the direction of travel, without swaying, moving, or interfering with each other. Short, jerky movements, swaying, high-legged gaits, past or present, too close or too far are all faults. The Sausage Dog must possess graceful, flexible movement and the stamina to get the job done.
