The masked side-necked turtle
The masked side-necked turtle is not uncommon Turtles, so people don’t know much about their appearance. It turns out that the masked side-necked turtle has a particularly beautiful carapace, and its hands, feet and head are also full of markings, making it a very suitable species to be raised as a research turtle.
The pattern on the side of the mask's neck and glans is similar to the flower surface, but it is also very different from the flower surface. There is a black inverted U-shaped black strip in the center of the chin, not a mixed pattern like a flower pattern. The background color of the larval plastron is not red or orange like the flower surface, but white. This is an important sign and characteristic of the masked side-necked turtle.
The adult masked side-necked turtle has beautiful markings and a distinctive complexion. The black turtle shell has gray-green freckles; the pink bottom has irregular spots. The head is relatively flat and has irregular white spots on its surface. Masked side-necked turtles are particularly gorgeous and should be kept in a deeper water tank to allow them to swim freely. The price of observation is very high. The adult carapace can reach a maximum length of 35.5 cm.
There are black spots on the ventral carapace of masked side-necked turtle larvae, which fade as adults, and there are radial lines on the carapace. Scattered in Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil, as well as neighboring Black Paraguay, Paraguay and northeastern Argentina. It is relatively rare on the market and difficult to purchase.
