White Rat Fish

White rats are native to the waters of South America and are now mostly cultivated artificially. White rats are the white subspecies of coffee rats, with a milky white body surface and bright red eyes. They are gentle in nature and can be kept in groups. It is oviparous, can be mixed with small fish, and is suitable for aquariums with aquatic plants and heavy wood, as well as bottom fish. It is recommended to lay down a fine dark colored sand to protect their tentacles. White rat fish are scaleless fish and are afraid of salt and medicine, so please do not take any chemical prescriptions such as water-based tranquilizers and methyl blue unless necessary. Even if you are sick, adjust the dosage by no more than half. Many aquarists have found that white rat fish often die mysteriously without any symptoms, except for a weak abdomen. This is mainly due to starvation. White rat fish are lower-level fish with a gentle nature (most of them). This is often because we feed too much food. If there is not enough food to eat, it will starve to death over time, so it is recommended to feed a certain amount of heavy-bottom feed: such as bloodworms and hamburgers. This will not only allow other fish to eat, but at the same time, the white rat fish will not be hungry.
Most of the male and female rat fish cannot be distinguished by other colors, but what is revealed is that the male fish generally has more beautiful and obvious patterns. When purchasing, you might as well choose two fish with bright colors for every fish with dark colors. When viewed from above, the widest point of the female's body is where the pelvic fin is slightly forward. The widest part of the male fish's body is at or just behind the pectoral fins. Viewed from the side, the female fish has a more rounded body, while the male fish is thinner and streamlined.
