Dog ID Card - Chip
Dog Dog chip

Have you ever heard of a dog chip? A small chip that is of great use to dogs? It can be a dog’s identity mark, and it can also prevent your dog from getting lost!

The dog chip is about the same size as a grain of rice, small, and the length is 0.8-0.9 cm , the width is a little narrower than a grain of rice. The chip contains a set of Arabic numeral numbers. Through a special scanner, the numbers can be displayed, just like a person's ID card number.

Some advanced countries, such as the United States and Canada, although they do not implement microchip implantation in dogs, they do open microchips in dogs. On the top of a dog's right ear or left ear, you can often see a set of numbers, which are the so-called "ear numbers". When the dog is still a puppy, use the method of "tattooing" to put an ear number on the inside of the ear. This is another way to identify dogs and play a role in finding lost dogs.

In some European countries, it is also written into the law to implant microchips in dogs. For example, the United Kingdom recently launched a new method : From April 6, all pet dogs must be implanted with microchips for tracking. If the owner does not agree, he will face a fine of up to 500 pounds. Statistics from the charity Dog Trust reveal that in 2015, more than 47,000 pet dogs were abandoned or unclaimed in the UK. According to the environmental, food and rural services department budget, if all pet dogs were microchipped, it would save the government and charitable organizations at least 33 million pounds a year.

The chip is implanted quickly and does not require surgery, anesthesia or surgery. The chip is made like an "injection", but slightly thicker than an ordinary needle. The chip can be implanted by injecting it, which is not very troublesome.

The best place to touch the chip is on the dog’s backline, from the neck to the tail , a straight line forms between two pointsLine, we call it the dorsal line or dorsal midline, and then a horizontal line forms on both sides of the shoulder and spleen bones. The center where these two lines intersect is the best place for us to implant the chip. The purpose of this part is that the skin is relatively thick and abundant, and the subcutaneous tissue is relatively rich, so the dog will not be in too much pain. At the same time, it is easier to scan on the back center line. First wipe and disinfect part of the skin with alcohol, then insert the chip into the dog's body through the syringe. The process takes 3-4 seconds. After implantation, press it with clean alcohol cotton for 20-30 seconds to avoid continued bleeding. Check to see if there is bleeding after pressing it. If not, the chip implantation is complete.

Chicken implantation in dogs must go to a regular hospital. Some parents will choose to implant the chip in their dogs directly. On the neck, this is very dangerous. Dogs’ necks are prone to inflammation and abscesses. Therefore, the method and location of implanting a chip into a dog must be determined.
